Ode to Art commissioned Every Matter for two red packet designs for the year 2021. To create a distinctly bold and retro visual language, we combined vibrant colours and holographic treatments to convey imagery reminiscent of 80s discotheque aesthetics.
The characters, expressed in regular and romanised Chinese, and the number ‘8’, are illustrated on the covers. ‘Huat’, or ‘發’ means ‘to prosper’ in Hokkien. The number ‘8’ embodies the luckiest number in Chinese culture.
